Yeom Dong-hoon, CEO of Megazone Cloud, a leading AI and cloud company, made this statement during a one-hour lecture on 「AI Native Starting with Data」 at the 442nd Korea Economic Association (KEA) CEO Breakfast Lecture held at the Grand Ballroom of FKI Tower Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul on the 18th.

At the breakfast lecture attended by approximately 200 CEOs of major domestic conglomerates and mid-sized and small-to-medium enterprises, CEO Yeom emphasized, 「The concept of AI Native is not simply using AI as a tool, but integrating it into all business areas of the company. Since it is about transforming the core foundation of business operations with AI, the CEO's decision is the most important factor in successful AI adoption.」

The KEA CEO Breakfast Lecture is a representative CEO-targeted lecture event in Korea. Since 1986, it has been a prestigious event that invites major figures from politics and business, humanities scholars, and industry experts as speakers to share economic issues and future visions.

During the lecture, CEO Yeom introduced, 「More than 1 billion people worldwide are already experiencing AI, which is 2-4 times faster adoption rate compared to existing innovative technologies such as smartphones, search services, and SNS. Currently, 75% of Fortune 500 companies have adopted or are in the process of adopting generative AI technology, and 79% of global leaders expect generative AI to be a key factor in business success within the next three years.」

CEO Yeom stated, 「However, more than 70% of companies have not advanced their generative AI projects beyond the proof-of-concept (PoC) stage. This shows that many companies are struggling to transition AI into a practical efficiency stage.」

CEO Yeom diagnosed that many companies are focusing on AI as a tool and overlooking the connection to the unchanging value of business objectives, or failing to structure data with hidden value for AI utilization, thus experiencing difficulties in AI adoption. As a solution, CEO Yeom presented three key conditions: ▲AI-Ready Workforce ▲AI-Ready Business Process ▲AI-Ready Data Foundation.

CEO Yeom emphasized as the first condition, 「Guiding employees to naturally utilize AI in their daily work and systematically conducting necessary technical training and capability enhancement.」 The second condition is 「Applying AI across major business processes such as sales, human resources, and finance,」 and the third condition is 「Building a data infrastructure based on metadata and governance to stably collect and manage high-quality data and effectively supply it to AI.」

Additionally, CEO Yeom stated, 「For AI to create tangible business value, all employees must understand the importance of data and be able to execute data-driven decision-making, and a cultural foundation must be established together.」

Finally, CEO Yeom said, 「Rather than blindly following innovative technologies, an approach that focuses on unchanging customer value and strategically applies AI technology is necessary. For this, the organic combination of data, human resources, and processes is key.」
