MegazoneCloud, CRK Integrated Freezing and Refrigeration Control Service Platform Construction

Megazone Cloud (CEO Yom Dong-hun), a leading AI and cloud company, has successfully built 'CRK SQUARE,' an integrated frozen and refrigerated equipment control service platform for CRK, the nation's leading commercial frozen and refrigerated equipment specialist.

'CRK SQUARE' is a control platform based on IoT sensors of frozen and refrigerated equipment that CRK supplies to distribution stores nationwide such as marts and convenience stores, as well as low-temperature warehouses. Typically, dozens of sensors are attached to each frozen and refrigerated device, collecting tens of millions of data points monthly, and a scalable architecture has been implemented to handle this data stably. With the construction of CRK SQUARE, CRK can now collect in real-time and remotely control critical data such as temperature, humidity, energy consumption, and equipment operating status from frozen and refrigerated equipment installed across the country in a cloud environment.

From fall 2023 to recently, over approximately one and a half years, Megazone Cloud oversaw the entire platform construction process, including planning the CRK SQUARE platform, designing system architecture, developing IoT device integration, linking on-premises databases, implementing dashboards, and building AWS cloud infrastructure architecture.

Given the sensitive nature of frozen and refrigerated equipment that responds to rapid changes, the core design goal was to precisely manage equipment 24/7 without interruption and maintain cold chain quality.

To achieve this goal, Megazone Cloud applied provisioning technology using mobile apps at the field installation stage, enabling devices to be connected through the network and initial diagnostics to be performed, thereby minimizing installation time and errors. In particular, by connecting through WiFi to the network, devices installed at any location can be controlled regardless of the field environment.

Additionally, through FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) functionality that enables remote automatic firmware updates of devices, feature improvements and security patches are possible without engineer site visits, reducing management and maintenance costs. Through a non-stop deployment structure that enables real-time reflection of system updates and feature improvements even during equipment operation, continuous enhancement and maintenance are possible without service interruption at the site.

CRK SQUARE, through advanced cloud infrastructure-based design, stably integrated various services including real-time data collection, event processing, user authentication, large-scale file processing, and automatic monitoring and alert functions. Data is distributed and stored according to operational purposes, and all functions are designed with a flexible, expandable modular structure, providing an environment optimized for maintaining service quality and global expansion.

CRK SQUARE was recently applied to frozen and refrigerated equipment installed in CU Mongolia regional stores, meeting local network environments and security standards, thereby completing verification of overseas service stabilization capabilities. Domestically, more than 50 units of equipment are operated at major distribution stores, and with thousands of additional registrations planned for this year, service coverage is rapidly expanding.
