MegazoneCloud wins supply contract for Gyeonggi-do AI company high-performance computing support project

Megazone Cloud (CEO Yom Dong-hoon), a leading AI and cloud company, was selected as the cloud infrastructure supplier for the 「Gyeonggi-do AI Company High-Performance Computing Support Project」 promoted by Gyeonggi-do and the Next-Generation Convergence Technology Research Institute (NGCTI).

This project is a public initiative that provides high-performance computing resources free of charge for 3 months to AI startups, SMEs, university startups, and youth companies in Gyeonggi-do. The goal is to promote AI technology development and enhance corporate competitiveness by providing cloud-based high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs) such as NVIDIA H100, A100, V100, and H200, as well as neural processing units (NPUs), which are difficult for SMEs and startups to secure independently.

Through this supply contract, Megazone Cloud will take charge of overall cloud infrastructure operations for the Gyeonggi-do AI Company High-Performance Computing Support Project. Accordingly, Megazone Cloud participated in the opening ceremony and business briefing of 「Gyeonggi K-AI Cloud Zone」 held on June 4th at the Gwacheon Megazone Industry-Academia-Research Center, hosted by Gyeonggi-do and NGCTI, and introduced the overview and support details of the support project to demand companies, while sharing services and use cases of major cloud companies.

「Gyeonggi K-AI Cloud Zone」 is a dedicated space created by Megazone Cloud within the Gwacheon Megazone Industry-Academia-Research Center for this project. During the project period, demand companies can compare and experience various cloud services including high-performance computing resources such as GPUs and NPUs, and select and utilize the most suitable service among major K-clouds such as Naver Cloud, NHN Cloud, KT Cloud, Samsung Cloud, and Kakao Cloud. Professional engineers from Megazone Cloud are stationed on-site to provide 1:1 technical consulting on cloud service adoption and utilization to demand companies.

For this project, Megazone Cloud has organized dedicated technical teams for each K-cloud CSP to support the entire process from consulting to infrastructure construction, operation, and failure response in the form of integrated managed services. Through this, the company plans to actively support demand companies in adopting and operating cloud resources more stably and efficiently.

Kim Ki-byung, Director of AI at Gyeonggi-do, said, 「Providing high-performance computing resources to AI companies is like laying a practical ladder for growth,」 and added, 「We will provide full support so that promising innovative companies can overcome AI infrastructure gaps, challenge the global stage, and lead the ecosystem.」

Hwang In-chul, CRO (Chief Revenue Officer) of Megazone Cloud, said, 「The goal of this project is to create an environment where AI companies can focus on technology development without infrastructure burden,」 and added, 「Beyond the successful completion of this project, we plan to contribute to the revitalization of the domestic cloud industry ecosystem by promoting expansion to other local governments and similar support projects based on accumulated experience and achievements.」

Recruitment of participating companies for the Gyeonggi-do AI Company High-Performance Computing Support Project will continue until June 20th, and detailed information can be found on the NGCTI website.

Eligible applicants are AI SMEs, startups, university startups, and youth companies with headquarters or main business locations in Gyeonggi-do, and a total of 50 companies will be selected. Among them, 40 companies using GPUs and 10 companies using both GPUs and NPUs will be provided with multi-cloud-based GPU and NPU resource credits (usage rights) free of charge for a basic 3 months. Even after credits are exhausted, high-performance computing resources can be additionally utilized at discounted prices during the project period.
