MegazoneCloud signs agreement with UNDP in Vietnam to realize social value through AI

Megazone Cloud (CEO Yom Dong-hun), a leading AI and cloud company, recently signed a 《Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for AI-based Sustainable Social Innovation and Community Welfare Enhancement》 with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and has decided to work together to realize social value through AI technology.

The agreement ceremony held at the UN Green One office in Hanoi, Vietnam was attended by key officials from both sides, including Megazone Cloud CEO Yom Dong-hun and UNDP Vietnam Resident Representative Ramla Khalidi.

Through this cooperation, Megazone Cloud will participate as an official partner in the UNDP's 《AI for Social Good》 initiative, a sustainable development support program for developing countries that aims to solve urgent social and environmental issues through technology, including climate change response, expansion of inclusive public services, and governance improvement.

To this end, Megazone Cloud and UNDP plan to share standards and principles for safe and responsible use of AI, and jointly develop ethical AI utilization methods suitable for Vietnamese society. They will jointly operate educational programs on AI governance and ethics, and plan to develop practical guidelines necessary for policy establishment and practical implementation.

In addition, both sides plan to explore AI-based solutions for Vietnam's remaining challenges: ▲mine clearance ▲air pollution mitigation ▲public health improvement. In particular, to prevent continuous damage caused by unexploded ordnance and mines remaining in central Vietnam, they have decided to prioritize cooperation in developing a mobile application that can help take swift action when these explosives are discovered.

UNDP will be responsible for cloud-based mine data policy and governance systems in cooperation with Vietnamese government agencies, and Megazone Cloud will contribute to improving research effectiveness and policy outcomes through data analysis, predictive modeling, and intelligent automation technology.

UNDP Resident Representative Ramla Khalidi said, 《AI technology can play a meaningful role in solving complex social problems such as climate change, health, education, and inclusive governance,》 and added, 《I hope this cooperation with Megazone Cloud will be an opportunity to explore practical technology-based solutions to major issues facing Vietnam, such as mine clearance, air pollution, and public health improvement.》
