MegazoneCloud appoints Yeom Dong-hoon as new overall representative

Megazone Cloud, a leading AI and cloud company, has recruited Yom Dong-hoon, a former Amazon headquarters executive, and appointed him as the new overall CEO.

Newly appointed CEO Yom Dong-hoon will serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Megazone Cloud, overseeing all business operations and leading global growth with a broad perspective. He will also oversee business expansion through expanded partnerships with CSPs and ISVs, as well as strategic investments from a global perspective. Additionally, he plans to actively expand new businesses based on generative AI services to lead the spread of AI, which is attracting attention as a new growth engine.
Lee Joo-wan, founder of Megazone Cloud, will serve as Board Chairman and, based on accumulated experience, will focus on IPO preparation, exploration of new business areas, establishment of future strategies, and discovery of investment opportunities. Hwang In-chul, who previously led the AWS business division, will take on the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), overseeing domestic business and sales of overseas subsidiaries, and will focus on creating an agile and proactive organizational culture alongside business growth to enhance customer satisfaction.
CEO Yom is recognized as a forward-thinking technology industry leader who has built approximately 30 years of experience at global companies such as Amazon and Google, leading digital innovation and strategic partnership development. While leading the AWS Global Partner Organization, he led a team overseeing a global ecosystem comprising approximately 100,000 partners, including global system integrators such as Accenture and Deloitte, and innovative software companies such as Snowflake and Databricks, more than doubling partner-contributed revenue.
Prior to that, while serving as CEO of AWS Korea, he led the achievement of establishing a data center in Korea ahead of countries with large markets such as India, the United Kingdom, and France. Through such strategic business operations, AWS Korea grew into a market leader with an overwhelming market share in Korea's enterprise cloud services market during CEO Yom's tenure.
CEO Yom, who majored in electrical engineering and computer science at MIT, also has entrepreneurial experience as CEO of a digital consulting and development services company.
Through the recruitment of CEO Yom Dong-hoon, who possesses verified capabilities in building high-performing organizations through rational leadership based on deep understanding of global culture, Megazone Cloud plans to accelerate value-based management and innovation promotion through collaborative partnerships.

Megazone Cloud and its affiliated companies, based on approximately 2,800 cloud specialist personnel, became the first unicorn company in Korea's cloud MSP industry, and achieved sales of 1.5106 trillion won in 2023. In addition to Korea, the company also operates local subsidiaries in 8 overseas countries including the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, Shanghai and Beijing in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
