- Megazone Cloud-Foundry publishes 「Generative AI Usage Status」 report…Survey of 749 AI and IT executives at domestic companies
- Projected 85% of companies will use AI in 2026…Diversification of adoption methods and expansion of investment plans

Companies that have adopted and are utilizing generative AI enterprise-wide show relatively low concerns about ROI (Return on Investment) uncertainty. This is interpreted to mean that companies applying generative AI across various business areas are already achieving a certain level of ROI.
Megazone Cloud (CEO Yom Dong-hun), a leading AI and cloud company, jointly conducted a survey with Foundry (formerly IDG) on AI usage among 749 AI and IT executives at domestic companies, revealing that concerns about ROI uncertainty from AI adoption are only 13.1% for companies already utilizing AI enterprise-wide. This is noteworthy as it is only about one-third compared to 34.9% of companies planning implementation within 1-2 years expressing concerns about ROI uncertainty.

The survey also found that 55.7% of domestic companies are already utilizing generative AI either enterprise-wide (22.4%) or in some departments (33.2%). Including companies currently implementing or planning to adopt within 1-2 years, it is projected that over 85% of companies will be utilizing generative AI in their work by 2026.
By company size, large enterprises showed an enterprise-wide adoption rate of 35.1%, more than twice higher than small and mid-sized companies. Among industries, IT/telecommunications/broadcasting showed the highest adoption rate at 37.5%.
60.3% of respondents evaluated generative AI as 「high priority」 in their company's IT strategy, and 74.0% responded that related investments increased compared to the previous year. Priority and related investment showed a direct correlation. Among companies with very high priority, 48.1% answered that related investments increased significantly, while 37.6% of companies with medium priority answered that related investments increased slightly.
However, despite many companies adopting generative AI, concerns about credibility and security remain high. The biggest concern regarding generative AI utilization was 「generation of misinformation and lack of result credibility」 (61.3%), ranking first, followed by 「security and personal information leakage risks」 (53.3%) with over half the response rate. Other major concerns included 「copyright and legal liability issues (21.0%)」 and 「ROI uncertainty (19.8%)」.
As generative AI adoption is rapidly spreading, many companies are still facing difficulties in terms of execution capabilities such as securing personnel and technology. Nearly half (49.8%) of surveyed companies identified 「lack of technical personnel and technical expertise」 as the biggest obstacle to generative AI adoption, followed by 「difficulty in securing appropriate infrastructure and data」 (32.0%) and 「lack of executive support and investment」 (21.0%).
The most necessary element for companies to successfully spread generative AI was 「strategic will and leadership of executives」 (41.1%), recording the highest response rate.
Regarding adoption methods, commercial SaaS-type generative AI services such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot accounted for the highest proportion at 35.5%, with fast deployment and cost efficiency cited as the biggest advantages. However, among companies currently implementing or planning to implement generative AI within 1-2 years, the proportion of commercial SaaS-type generative AI services was lower. Companies that chose to develop and operate their own generative AI models placed greater importance on 「security and data control considerations (45.9%)」 and 「possibility of implementing customized features (36.1%)」.
Regarding 2026 generative AI-related budgets, 79.3% of companies expected increases, with 20-49% increases accounting for 26.8% and increases under 20% accounting for 38.7%. Among companies that significantly increased investment in 2025, 37.2% responded they would increase budgets by 50% or more in 2026, showing that companies with full-scale generative AI utilization have a clear intention to expand investment.
The most cited purpose for generative AI utilization was 「improving work efficiency and productivity」 (70.5%). Major departments utilizing it included software development (44.1%), IT operations (40.3%), marketing, customer service, and research and development, with representative task types including 「document summarization and report writing (43.1%)」, 「data analysis and insight derivation (40.3%)」, and 「programming assistance (37.0%)」.
