MegazoneCloud Holds Seminar to Discuss Quantum AI Technology Application Directions

Leading AI and cloud company Megazone Cloud (CEO Yom Dong-hoon) and presented the direction of quantum AI technology utilization and industrial application.

Megazone Cloud held the 'Quantum × AI: The Next Frontier' seminar with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) on the 19th at the Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul. The event, hosted by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, was attended by approximately 200 experts from industry, academia, and research institutions, sharing the convergence possibilities of quantum computing and AI technology and industrial application strategies.

As interest in AI and quantum technology increases, this seminar addressed not only research achievements but also practical application cases and challenges, presenting various perspectives on what changes quantum AI will bring to industries overall.

Choi Jang-won, Head of Policy Strategy at KISTI, who read the welcoming remarks on behalf of KISTI Director Lee Sik, said, "Together with Megazone Cloud, we are establishing a national foundation for practical application of quantum technology in industry and public sectors," and "We will take the lead with a sense of responsibility in building an open quantum AI ecosystem where researchers, companies, and the government can grow together through this event and beyond."

Democratic Party member Hwang Jeong-a said, "I hope this seminar will serve as a venue for industry-academia-research collaboration to discuss the evolution of quantum machine learning and AI infrastructure, and become a strategic foundation for South Korea to secure leadership in the global technology competition."

Woo Sang-wook, CEO of PharmCAD, who presented on 'Industrial Application of Quantum AI,' said, "AI technology based on quantum computing is becoming an important tool to supplement the limitations of existing AI in fields with high computational complexity, such as new drug development and molecular modeling," and "In PharmCAD's research, we are also confirming the possibility of improving search speed and modeling accuracy."

In the presentation on 'Quantum LLM Technology and Industrial Potential,' Kim Sang-hyup, Senior Engineer at IonQ, explained, "Integrating quantum computing into AI workflows can mitigate limitations of existing AI such as data inefficiency and increased energy costs, and has the potential to enhance overall AI pipelines by improving model performance."

Professor Ahn Do-yeol, Emeritus Chair Professor at Seoul City University, conducted a presentation on the theme of 'Strategy for Building a Sustainable Quantum AI Ecosystem.' Professor Ahn said, "The applicability of quantum technology is rapidly expanding in various fields such as bio and medical, and to connect this to industrialization, cultivating specialized talent and establishing policy foundations are more important than ever," and emphasized, "Now is the most critical time to design a Korean-style quantum AI ecosystem."
